Atmakaraka is a Sanskrit term that translates to soul or self. An Atmakarka planet is one that most closely embodies your soul's desires. It is the planet with the highest degree in your natal chart, making it the most significant planet in your life. This planet embodies your soul's deepest desires, strengths, and weaknesses. By understanding your Atmakaraka, you can reveal the secrets to your destiny, align with your true calling, and transform your life.
In verse 2.22 of Sankhya Yog, Bhagwad Gita says
Na tvevāhaṃ jātu nāsaṃ
Na tvaṃ neme janādhipāḥ
Na caiva na bhaviṣyāmaḥ
Sarve vayam ataḥ param
न त्वेवाहं जातु नासं
न त्वं नेमे जनाधिपाः
न चैव न भविष्यमः
सर्वे वयमतः परम्
(Bhagavad Gita 2.22)
This verse can be translated as: I was not present, nor you, nor all these rulers of men; nor will we ever cease to be in the future. All of us are eternal.
In this verse, Sri Krishna is emphasizing the eternal nature of the soul and its identity as the Atman. He asserts that the soul never ceases to exist, neither in the past, present, nor future and that this applies to all souls, including himself and the rulers of men. The verse highlights the idea that the soul is not subject to the laws of birth and death and that it is unchanging and eternal.
Sri Krishna reassures us that the soul is not limited by time or space and that it is an eternal part of the divine. By understanding this fundamental truth about the soul, we can find peace and liberation from the cycle of birth and death and attain a state of eternal bliss.
