The Nakshatra, often known as the Birth Star, is an important aspect of Indian Vedic astrology. There are 28 nakshatras in all, however, only 27 are used in calculations. Using your date and location of birth, you may determine your nakshatra and other astrological natal facts.
In Vedic astrology, a 'nakshatra' is a name for a Lunar Mansion. They are termed lunar mansions because the moon spends approximately one day in each nakshatra. Each lunar place is divided into four halves of 3°20'r, known as padas. A nakshatra is one of the 27 houses along the ecliptic in Hindu mythology. The nakshatras, or lunar constellations, are linked to the moon's natal signs. Moon moves through 12 signs of the zodiac in 28 days and changes signs or houses every 2.3 days. The moon rules all nakshatras, and the sun rules all astrological signs. The lord of each nakshatra oversees the planetary position and is hence in charge of predicting an individual's course.
Nakshatra is in charge of analyzing one's mental power, insights, and qualities, as well as calculating one's Dasha period ( birth-chart ). The notion of Nakshatra is used in astrological analysis and accurate prediction. Nakshatra is based on a list of 27 asterisms, and each nakshatra is associated with a great deity. Each nakshatra has its own shakti and strength and is ruled by one of the nine planets in the following order: South lunar node, Venus, Sun, Moon, Mars, North lunar node, Jupiter, Saturn, and Mercury. The sequence is repeated three times in order to cover all 27 nakshatras.
